Our campaign just gave $100 to Tweetsgiving.Org a project of the nonprofit group Epic Change. This is an incredible project that has proven again the power of social media in order to enact change and in order to raise funds. This time, it's been lots of small donations through popular microblogging site Twitter that have helped to raise $10,000 in just 48 hours.
Barack Obama proved this year in his Presidential campaign that mobile marketing and social media can make A HUGE difference in mobilizing people for change. We are proud to support this worthy cause and look forward to demonstrating in '09 the power of social media in a local campaign, when we take on the New York City Council.
